The tradition of a family
History: a blend of different terroirs from the village of Vire sur Lot which make up the Château. This range has always existed in Gaudou, with the experience of generations, this wine has been able to fulfil itself.
Soil: limestone, gravel and clay
Age of the vines: " 33 years old.
Grape varieties : 80 % Malbec, Merlot, Tannat.
Yield: 53 hl/ha
Vinification: Sulphur-free fermentation, "vegan" fining, gravity-fed bottling.
Ageing: 9 months in casks
Environment: Sustainable winegrowing.
Tasting : Intense colour, purplish tints. Clean, expressive nose blending floral dimension and crunchy fruity notes (red fruits, plum). If the attack is melted, the evolution is firmer, stricter, tannic. The fruit expresses itself in a fresh atmosphere.(Guide Gilbert & Gaillard)
Year recommended for tasting: 1 to 6 years old.
Tasting temperature: 15 to 17°C.
Food and wine pairing :
A modern Cahors to be served with everyday cuisine. Superb with white meats, a tart with sun vegetables, caramelised braised endives, a gratin dauphinois, Bresse guinea fowl, cheeses.
