Renaissance

"Intense and powerful"

The rebirth of a wine

History: it was born after the storm in the summer of 1992. Mr Durou decided to grass the vines in order to stabilise the pebbled terroirs. He realised that certain plots could offer a higher quality due to a drop in vigour and deep rooting. He found the wines he tasted in his childhood more concentrated and that he loved, for him this is the rebirth of the Cru de Gaudou.

Surface area: 3 ha

Soil: Gravel and Clay
Age of the vines: 33 to 60 years old.
Grape variety: 100% Malbec
Yield: 30 hl/ha
Vinification: Fining "vegan", bottled by gravity.

Ageing in oak barrels: 18 months.

Environment: Sustainable winegrowing.

Tasting :Dark colour with purple tinges. The nose is concentrated and mixes black fruit and floral fragrances with a woody tonality. The palate is concentrated, marked by ageing but offers an elegant expression. The finish is still vanilla. To be expected. (Guide Gilbert & Gaillard)
